Ok, so Alexis' birthday was over a week ago, which means I am a little late posting these pictures... but I wanted everyone to see the fun birthday party she had at her babysitter Beth's house!

Alexis is getting up there in age... yesterday she turned one year old! We had a little party with just the three of us, and then tonight we had a bigger party. Here are a few pictures to document her major milestone...

Happy Baby

Alexis has turned out to be an amazing walker, now that she doesn't have any fluid in her ears to throw her off balance anymore. She still walks like Frankenstein, which is pretty funny to watch. Here are a few pictures of her from our weekend... just us girls, since Cort has been in Las Vegas for a few days.

It's over!

The surgery is over, and it was a success!

Ears

Alexis will be going in for surgery next Tuesday, December 5th, to have tubes put in her ears. She will be put under anesthesia, but the surgery should only take about 15 minutes. Cross your fingers that everything goes well, and that she will be free of all of the painful ear infections that have plagued her for the past 6 months. Please keep us in your thoughts that day!

Turkey Platter

It is an O'Shea family tradition that all babies in the family get their picture taken on the turkey platter at their first Thanksgiving. This year we celebrated Thanksgiving with the Kelleher side of the family, so Alexis got her turkey platter picture a few days after the holiday. She is a big turkey and barely fits on the plate!

New trick...

Alexis has a new trick... when you ask her "What do you do when the Bears score?" she throws her arms up for a touchdown!! Our babysitter's daughter, Laura, caught it on video for us yesterday. Take a look... make sure you turn your speakers on first!

My new friend Abby

Today I made a new friend!! Her name is Abby and she is just two weeks old. She is the daughter of Mom's friends Katie and Paul. Abby is very tiny... just look at the difference between her and me! Mommy says she can't believe that I was ever that small!

Autumn Days

The leaves are really starting to change colors and fall to the ground, and Alexis has been having fun playing in the leaf piles! Here she is in one of her Halloween outfits...


And here she is tasting the leaves... she won't eat anything lumpy that we try to feed her but has no problem putting leaves in her mouth???!!? Oh well... Gramma Jean promises us that we won't be sending her off to college still eating nothing but oatmeal and mashed up fruit!


Here she is posing by our Halloween porch display. That was two days ago, and by today a chipmunk had eaten almost every single kernel off of the Indian corn.


Alexis has been a little trooper lately... last Friday we found out that she had ear infections in both ears... poor baby! She has come up with a new sound within the last few days... DukaDukaDukaDukaDuka... over and over and over. We are now sure that when she says MAMAMAMA she is actually referring to me, and Uncle Scott will swear on his life that she tried to say peek-a-boo to him the other day when he was hiding from her. Our little monkey still loves to climb the stairs and anything else that gets in her way. She doesn't go around obstacles, she goes over them. She is growing up so fast!

My weekend with Gramma Debi

This past week Gramma Debi came to visit me! She flew in on Tuesday and babysat me Wednesday through Friday while Mom and Dad were at work. We had such a good time!

In other news... yesterday I climbed up the whole staircase.... without ever practicing!! Mom and Dad had to break out the baby gates finally. I have also been climbing onto the dishwasher door when it is open, which Daddy says is not made for a big 20 pound baby like me to lay on! Maybe I am part monkey? I sure do like to climb and make monkey-like noises!
