Gramma Debi comes to town!

Gramma Debi came to visit us this week! We had such a great time and can't wait to go visit her and Grampa in their new house in Colorado Springs this summer!

Gramma helping Dave with his favorite activity, eating...

Gramma and the kids... Dave is trying to eating a plastic egg, of course.

We had Dave's first birthday party this weekend, since Gramma Debi was in town, along with Uncle Brian, Aunt Melissa, and Emma.
Dave and Emma sizing up one another...

Emma paid Dave back for all of the eye pokes he gave her last time he saw her...

So cute!

Everyone had to try on Mommy's new pot...

What is that duck doing up there?!

Out to lunch with Gramma!

Alexis trying on her "wedding" dress that Gramma gave to her...

Going for a visit with Uncle Ed and Aunt Sis...

Opening presents for Gramma's birthday... Alexis loves to help!

Thanks for coming to visit, Gramma! Come again soon!

The big ONE!

Dave turned one today! It is hard to believe that a year has gone by already. He is so much fun and such a sweet baby. His new tricks are learning how to dance (see video below), taking his first steps (new record of 7 steps!), and giving hugs. He loves lights, and will practically crawl up your side to get to a light switch. He is very chatty, and seems to be figuring out a few words. He is always laughing, and usually trying to get into something he shouldn't. He thinks that "no" means "keep doing what you're doing". He loves his big sister, but also wants every single thing that she is playing with... and the same can be said for her wanting everything that he is playing with. This leads to a lot of screaming matches between the two. I know, you are shocked to hear that Alexis screams! Dave is a tough cookie and is not afraid of anything, even the vacuum. He is in constant motion, and he doesn't have the "gentle" gene... good thing for us that our cats tolerate his not-so-gentle loving pats. We are glad that he is nearly walking, because he loves to be outside, and we don't want to ruin any more pants letting him crawl around out there. Dave keeps us on our toes, but he is a joy to have around!
Happy Birthday, Dave!

Dave really did not care much about opening presents. Alexis did all of the work for him. He did like his new shovel though... I can just see the wheels turning while he tries to figure out what he can whack with that shovel...

Taking a break in his new lawn chair...

Alexis does some potato sack racing in the gift bag...

Why does everyone in this house want to get in the gift bags?

Alexis helped out with the candle blowing...
Dave did not seem impressed with our singing.

YUMMMMM!!!

Dave is learning some new dance moves!

Knee-walking

Dave has found a new mode of transportation... knee-walking!
