Strong Man

Dave is getting to be a strong little man! He rolled over for the first time at the Kelleher Easter party... which is a funny coincidence, because Alexis took her first roll at the Kelleher Easter party as well, 3 years ago. The doctor said he is super strong (although maybe they say that to all parents?!) Here he is doing some tummy time and checking out his surroundings.

Alexis likes to help during tummy time by demonstrating to Dave how to lift up his head...

A kiss from big Sis...

A new view on the world from the Bumbo chair (thanks for letting us borrow your chair, Nolan!).

1 Month Old

Dave had his one month checkup this week, and he is growing like a weed. He weighs 9lbs 11oz and is 21.5" long. He is roughly 40th-50th percentile for everything... height, weight and head size. He has started to smile every now and then, and I managed to finally get a photo...

Dave and Alexis posing with the tiger...

This doll cradle belonged to my Grandma when she was a kid.
Dave fits nicely right now!

Hobo

Check out the hobo we found sleeping on our stairs!

Easter and Catching Up on Photos

Sorry it has been awhile since the last post. Dave appears to have grown since then. His next doctor appt is on Tuesday so we will find out soon what he weighs. I am betting 10 or 11 pounds... we'll see!

He loves his swing... so much that we borrowed one from our cousin Nolan so that we can have one upstairs and one downstairs. Thanks Nolan!

Uncle Scott makes a comfy spot for sleeping.

Alexis likes to wash her baby just like we wash Dave... our water bill is going to be higher than our diaper bill!

Tired baby...

Coloring eggs for Easter!

Found one that the Easter bunny hid! I have been told by a few people that Alexis looks just like me in this photo... what do you think?

Surprised to find an egg!

Sharing a laundry basket with our fat cat Max.

Pretty in pink...

Dave doing a little bit of tummy time... he likes it for a few minutes.

Alexis holding her baby brother... she told me he is too heavy for her to hold!

Dave has been finding his thumb every now and then. Fine with me... a thumb can't fall out and get lost during the night like a pacifier!

Dave actually likes taking a bath now!

Things have been going as well as can be expected so far. Dave generally gets a four or five hour stretch of sleep at night, has a nighttime bottle, and then only lasts another two hours or so before he is up for the day... usually around 5am. We are dragging, but luckily Grandma and Grandpa took the kids overnight this weekend so we got to have one good night of solid sleep. Hopefully we can stretch him out to sleeping through the night before I go back to work. So far (knock on wood) Alexis has not shown any jealousy. She still really likes too help out, especially with bath time and diaper time. The house looks like a tornado went through it with Alexis being home all day long. I feel like I pick up the entire house 4 or 5 times a day. I give a lot of credit to stay at home moms!! Dave has made the switch to soy formula because he seems to be allergic to the regular stuff. The doctor said it tastes worse (like anything can taste worse than regular formula??!) but he doesn't seem to mind a bit. He also likes the taste of gas drops, gripe water, oatmeal, and prune juice... basically anything that gets in his mouth. We have high hopes that this means he will be a much better eater than Alexis!

Growing Too Fast

What a difference 20 days makes... here is Dave and his new buddy Kurtis. Kurtis is the son of my friend Meggan, and he is only 20 days older than Dave. They were pretty much the same size at birth, and look at the difference already! I guess I shouldn't waste any more money on newborn size outfits, because they probably won't fit for long.

What a difference 3 years makes! Alexis and Dave are exactly 3 years and 3 months apart. They were the same length at birth, and look at the difference now...

Dave is starting to spend more time awake, and he likes to look up at the lights all the time... maybe he will be an electrician like Grandpa!
