Meeting Emma

This weekend we finally got to go and meet our newest family member, Emma! She is so adorable and sooooo tiny. Dave looks like a giant compared to her. Five months makes quite a big difference!

Alexis holding Emma... she is barely bigger than her baby dolls.

Kids of all sizes...

Preparing for the 2026 Winter Olympics... we just need one more grandkid to be ready for the USA Bobsled team.

Here is Uncle Brian demonstrating Dave's ability to be stiff as a board, no matter how you hold him...

Holding my favorite niece...

Cort and his favorite niece...

Here is a better way to understand just how tiny Emma really is... this is her laying next to a roll of paper towels... she is smaller!

Comparing head size...

Thank goodness for travel DVD players... it makes a 4 hour trip much easier!

Here is Dave demonstrating his newest trick... it is no longer safe to leave him in his bouncy seat all alone! He is also getting to be a good roller... videos to come sometime soon.

Sleepover

Last Saturday, Cort and I went to a wedding in Indiana. My Mom and Dad were visiting Emma that day, so Alexis and Dave went to go have a sleepover with their cousin, Johnny. They had sooooo much fun! Alexis has been talking about it ever since. We are so happy that she is finally big enough to enjoy going places without us!

Two tired kids at the end of the day...

I think they have plenty of blankets and pillows...

Emma Rose

Dave and Alexis have a new cousin!!! Emma Rose was born on August 19th. She is 6 lbs 10.5 oz and 19.5" long. I attempted to steal a picture from Brian's blog to put on ours, but it didn't work, so click on their link over to the right to see some pictures of Emma. We are all excited to go and meet her next weekend... see how happy Dave and Alexis are to have their first "first" cousin?

Boys

Parenting a boy is going to be a major learning curve for us. I don't think Alexis has ever slammed a toy against anything in her entire life. Dave, on the other hand...

Too Big

I don't know why, but Alexis just loves to stuff herself into places that are way too small for her to fit comfortably. Apparently, she has not yet reached the age where it starts to be depressing if your butt doesn't fit into something that used to fit just fine!
