Ice Skating

Cort took Alexis ice skating today... she was a natural! Maybe she will play hockey like Daddy someday. We have a great outdoor rink just a few minutes away, so we will for sure be taking her again this winter. Dave has an ear infection, a cold, and a fever, so him and I stayed home this time.

Like all first time skaters, she did spend a bit on time laying on the ice!

Look at her go!

9 Months Old!

Dave is 9 months old now... growing so quickly! He had his doctor appointment, and he is 19.5 pounds (30th percentile), 28 3/4 inches (70th percentile - woohoo tall!), and the grand finale... 96th percentile for head size! He still only has one tooth, which gives him a cute little snaggle tooth smile. There are others getting close to peeking through, though... he has had a rough few days of pain and fever, and he will soon have an upper fang to go along with his bottom tooth.

We continue to enjoy our little guy. It is fun to see the differences between the two kids. Dave's favorite thing to do is try to get into the cats' water bowl... and he has had a few successful attempts! He is like lightning when he crawls, but still can't really roll over. Go figure? He LOVES Alexis most of all... she can make him laugh more than anyone else. He is a very sweet baby, and always on the move... his little legs never stop kicking. He likes to touch (poke) things with just one finger... right before he makes a grab for it!

Christmas 2009

Merry Christmas! We hope everyone had a great holiday. Here is Alexis on Christmas Eve, showing off her picture of Santa and Rudolph!

Ready to party!

Dave is not so sure about Santa... refuses to sit down!

Emma was happy to sit with Santa!

Alexis was happy to stand next to Santa... not too close!

Dave with Santa's boot...

Ellen wearing the boot...

Johnny wearing the boot...

Monkey see, Monkey do... everyone wanted to try on the boot!

Alexis and her new stuffed dog.
We had a great time at the Christmas Eve party!

Christmas morning at our house!

Santa and Rudolph had their treats!

New bike!!!

Passing out presents...

Dave had a staring contest with his new toy...

Hey, there was a snake in that mint can!

Santa gave Alexis a lot of books... she loves books!

Dave surrounded by holiday mess...

We went to Christmas brunch at Grandma and Grandpa's house. Uncle Scott, Uncle Brian, Aunt Melissa and Emma gave Alexis a HUGE present... and look at the cool wrapping job! Could this present be any more enticing?!??!

An elephant big enough to ride on!! After much discussion, he was named Elmer. Alexis loves him!

Dave likes any toy that comes with a hammer!

All the kids testing out Grandpa's new picnic table...

Dave was determined to poke Emma in the eye...

Little Mr. Menace wasted no time figuring out how to open the vent covers...

Alexis is the only kid in the world that carefully refolds her new outfit before moving on to the next gift!

The grandkids hanging out... mostly, Alexis protecting Emma from getting her eye poked at!

Too cute!

Still cute from behind!

Hope you all had a great Christmas!

Happy Fourth Birthday to Alexis!

Alexis is 4 years old today! It is hard to believe that we have a four year old... time flies! We started out the day with baking a birthday cake... chocolate with chocolate frosting.

Dave supervised the baking from his high chair...

Then we went to Old McDonalds (that is what Alexis calls it) for a pancake breakfast...

Of course we had to drive a little further so that we could go to the McDonald's with the giant playland...

Later on, Alexis decorated her cake... pay close attention to the pink "4" that I drew on the cake, because this is the last time you will ever see it...

Beautiful! Alexis was very proud of her decorating ability!

Excited for Daddy to get home for present time!

Alexis loved the horse and cowgirl that she received in the mail from our cousins Sherry, Peter, Connor and Sean in Michigan!

Dave, as always, was a big help...

Putting together the new floor puzzle...

Making a wish!
