Gramma Debi's Visit

This week Gramma Debi came to visit us! We had a great time! Check out some of the fun things that we did...

Last Sunday we celebrated Alexis' early birthday...

Gramma made super cute shark sweatshirts for Alexis and Dave... here is Alexis modeling hers...

Alexis pouring tea from the antique tea set that Aunt Joclyn gave to her...

Sitting with Gramma... check out the cute Christmas dress that she gave to Alexis!

On Friday, Cort and I took the day off and we all went to Konow's Pumpkin Farm. We had so much fun! Here we are on the jumping pillow...

Dave in hayland... can you just see the wheels turning in his head while he contemplates his next menacing plot? :)

Gramma, Alexis, Mommy and Dave going for a ride on the cow train... both kids loved it! Dave cried so much when he got off that Cort took him for a second ride!

Alexis buried in the corn pit...

Dave was more interested in Gramma's popcorn than he was in the corn pit. That boy does love his snacks!

My favorite picture of the day!

Alexis trying to get us lost in the corn maze...

Walking with Gramma...

Carving pumpkins! Gramma hasn't carved a pumpkin in 20 years, but she managed to call upon her skills and carve both Alexis and Dave's pumpkins for them!

Pumpkins L to R - Dave, Alexis, Christie and Cort
Alexis got to draw her design and Gramma carved it for her. Dave helped pick out a picture on the computer for his. Then he spent the evening wandering around messing with stuff while the rest of us were occupied with our carving. He also managed to sneak a few tastes of pumpkin guts, much to Alexis' disgust.

Gramma and the kids by our outdoor Halloween display...

Thanks for visiting, Gramma!! We had such a good time and we can't wait for your next trip. Stay tuned for costume photos tomorrow!

Pumpkin Patch

Today we went to the Children's Farm to look for our pumpkins. We took a hayride out to the field, picked out the perfect ones, and then we got to ride in a golf cart back to our car with our giant pumpkins! I thought that was a nice little service provided by the farm. Alexis got to ride in the back to protect the pumpkins, which was a thrill for her!

Here are the kids looking for the perfect pumpkin... for Alexis, this meant perfectly round, not too tall, no flat spots, no weird marks, and no dirt. Needless to say, it took quite awhile for her to settle on one.

Dave always tries to pick up heavy objects... he tried to pick up all of the pumpkins he came across in the field.

Posing for a quick photo...

Farm Field Trip

This past week, Alexis went on a field trip to Konow Farm, and I was a chaperone. I lucked out and only had to watch Alexis and one other little girl, Stella, who was equally well behaved. Yes! Easy chaperoning duties for me.

Class picture...

Alexis and Stella on the jumping pillow...

Alexis going around the track on her John Deere...

Checking out the animals...

Alexis next to the biggest pig I have ever seen. Seriously, the picture does not do justice to how huge that thing was. She also had 11 piglets... talk about exhausting.

Alexis taking a break in hayland...

Getting ready to take a spin on the cow train... it was FAST!

The girls in the corn pen...

We are going to go again when Gramma Debi visits, so Dave will be able to have some farm fun as well. Stay tuned for more pictures at the end of October...
